Touhou 2

Touhou 2: The Story of Eastern Wonderland is a vertical-scrolling shoot-'em-up released in 1997 for the PC-98 by Amusement Makers. It follows Reimu Hakurei as she investigates a youkai invasion of the Hakurei Shrine, introducing fast-paced shooting and more defined boss battles. This game established many of the series' signature elements, including focused dodging, patterned bullets (danmaku) and the shmup direction for the series going forward.
